Bio:

RVA Fashion Week has taken the city by storm once again, showcasing the unique fashion and culture of Richmond. This year’s fall runway show featured several designers who told their story through fashion, and our reporter Jessica Johnson was there to cover it all.

One of the designers, Quanei and Maurice Smith, founders of HQNM Apparel, named their brand after their daughter and their own initials. Quanei emphasized inclusivity for all women and men, and their brand was created earlier this year. This event was their first opportunity to showcase their work, and they can be found on various social media platforms under the username HQNM Apparel.

Chanel, the designer for her brand Liznel, was also the fashion director for the show. Her brand focuses on customs and creating different styles from various legacies around the world. Chanel revealed that her brand was her way of completing her mother and grandmother’s dreams, making it a legacy brand. Her store location, The Liznel, will be opening soon, and she can be found on social media under the username @LiznelOfficial.

RVA Fashion Week was created by a group of VCU students back in 2008, and it has been a staple event in Richmond ever since. It is a testament to the hard work of designers, models, and staff members who come together to showcase their talents and the culture of the city.

Overall, it was a lovely show that captured the essence of Richmond’s unique fashion and culture.
