Bio:
Being a production assistant for the RVA 48 Hour Film Festival was an exciting opportunity for me to gain some production experience. The festival gave the team 48 hours to create a film based on a prompt, and my role was to help with various aspects of the production.
The team I worked with was an advertising agency called Radish Productions, which had access to professional equipment. I was assigned to slate each take with a clapperboard, which was a role that I didn't know was so intense. I quickly learned that I had a lot of responsibility and had to ensure that I got every shot right.
Apart from slating, I also assisted with set design and setting up equipment. It was a great opportunity for me to network with professionals and see them in action, which helped me gain more insight into the production process.
The end result was a fantastic film that won several titles, including Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Actor, Best Directing, Audience Choice, and Best Film. Being a part of the team that worked on this project was an incredible learning experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a production assistant for the RVA 48 Hour Film Festival.
